The library is staffed by volunteers and open for a few hours each month. Opening hours for September 2023 – December 2023:
1st Friday of month 12pm – 2pm (6/10, 3/11 & 1/12)
1st Saturday of month 10am – 12pm (2/9, 7/10, 4/11 & 2/12)
3rd Saturday of month 10am – 12pm (16/9, 21/10, 18/11 & 16/12)
Hours may change in the future once we gauge interest.
The library is located in the Goulds Natural Medicine building, 71-73 Liverpool St, Hobart TAS 7000. Go up the laneway, door on the left and up the stairs to the top floor.
The Collection
The library consists of a collection of over 1000 items donated over forty years since the inception of Tashi Choling Dharma Foundation. Publications cover a range of subjects including Buddhist philosophy, Tibetan Buddhism, Zen Buddhism, Bodhicitta, Meditation, Theravada Buddhism, Sacred texts, Monastic life, Lam-Rim, Western Buddhism, Vipassana, Compassion, Mantra/Chant/Prayer and Karma to name a few.
The collection is predominantly books, but also includes a range of DVDs, CDs including sound recordings of teachings as well as music, and periodicals including popular titles such as Tricycle.
