Down to Earth Dharma
Sangha Led 5-day Retreat
January 21-26 2021
N.B. There is only one place left at this retreat (as of 16 January).
‘Down to earth means being open and honest. … A person who is down to earth is a pleasure to find. He or she accepts other people as equals. A down to earth person is the opposite of someone who acts important or proud.’
Our intention is to provide a jargon free approach to the teachings of the Buddha. We hope to facilitate direct, embodied experience. We want to keep it real, be real. How do we manage our lives so that we can live with the ordinary reality of being human, as is stated in the first Noble Truth – the ongoing, everyday truth of suffering? Coming to terms with life as it is can be profoundly liberating and heart opening.
Down to earth is also about connecting with the earth as our great body, remembering our true home.
This silent retreat will include experiential, creative explorations, guided meditations and contemplations, somatic practices, and times for discussion and inquiry.
The co-leaders of this retreat will be Roslyn Alexander, Tony Dix, Guy Turnbull and Lizzie Turnbull.
This retreat will be our first endeavour to re-open Dorje Ling Retreat Centre with new Covid-aware requirements.
